Stay Safe

Offers basic first aid and safety skills for youth 9-13 years old. Participants learn about being safe when they are without the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult, both at home and in their communities.

Babysitting Course

Offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families.

Emergency Child Care Course

Basic one-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses. Course is designed for those in the early childhood education industry as well as for parents/caregivers. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.

Standard Child Care First Aid

Comprehensive two-day course offering lifesaving first aid skills,

cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, and injury prevention skills

and knowledge, with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses.

Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines and meets legislation

requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and

day care worker safety requirements*.

Youth Leader

Youth Leaders support the Red Cross Youth First Aid Program through the delivery of our Stay Safe! and Babysitting courses. With the required prerequisites, candidates enter into our comprehensive Youth Leader Development Program, designed to prepare them to support dynamic, learner-centered classroom environments.
